At Rutgers, I am extremely involved!
Currently, I am the Vice President of TWESE, The African Student Association of Rutgers University. I love my position because it allows me to be unapologetically cultured. When I got to college, it was so pleasant to feel a sense of belonging I didn't have in high school regarding my ethnicity. Below is a picture of me and my 2016-2017 e-board!
I am also a part of The Minority Engineering Educational Task (MEET), the Rutgers Chapter of The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). Through this organization I have gotten the opportunity to propel my academic and professional career to the next level! They are responsible for preparing me for all the great things I've done during undergrad such as attend NSBE conventions in Boston, Kansas City, and Pittsburgh where I participated in Google Hackathons and met the CEO of Twitter (twice), Jack Dorsey. I have also been able to attend two all expense paid conferences, Anita Borg Grace Hopper Conference: Celebration of Women in Computing (Orlando,Florida) where I landed my internship for this upcoming summer and HBCU@SXSW (Austin, Texas) where I met Spike Lee and made connections that will benefit me for a lifetime to come.
